Customer Service Baker

The Customer Service Baker function is to provide exceptional services and information to both internal and external customers through sharing of their baking and King Arthur Flour product knowledge. While in the CSR Unit they function as the baking specialist responding to questions, assuring that baking resource information is readily available to the CSR Unit, and overseeing the technical functioning of the support bakers.

Essential Job Function:

  • The completion of tasks in assigned area- Emails, hotline calls, pink slips, correspondence, product information updating, samples organization.
  • Implementation of show & tells, product demos and catalogue quizzes
  • Administration of baking demo’s, KAF Cookbook class, updated training manual
  • Monitor for response of baking content, pink slips, call transfers, hotline calls, e-mails
  • Implement conversion by maintaining and setting up product sample and product information before in-home dates
  • Employee training for product and baking knowledge
  • Acts as a resource person to other employees in Baker’s Pod as well as the larger CSR group
  • Share baking knowledge and experience with team members that enhances overall performance of the team.
  • Familiarity with and organization of our baking resources
  • Displays commitment to KAF mission and goals
  • Model team behavior on BHOPS team (service orientation, raise issues, support team goals, share ideas for improved efficiency)
  • Implement improvement action plans in assigned area
  • Acquire additional knowledge and training as provided by KAF

Educational/experience:

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Comprehensive baking knowledge, supported by culinary degree, AIB course or comparable

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time

Minimum job requirements:

  • Ability to effectively answer 95% of baking questions for customers, CSR’s and baker’s support, by phone, e-mail and in person
  • Thorough understanding of all KAF products
  • Ability to answer accurately product questions for customers and baker’s support

Shift Team Leader, Customer Service

Date: 05/2008

With limited supervision the Shift Team Leader functions as a point person during their assigned shift or for an assigned task. They are responsible for the overall department efficiencies & service level during their time at the T/L desk. In addition, they are accountable for the service, quality, and efficiencies of an assigned area or areas within the department.

Essential Job Function:

Shift Point Person/Resource:
  • Rotating through the monitoring of the Taske and department service level responsibility during assigned shifts.
  • Point person for answering customer and csr questions or concerns
  • Acting as employee supervisor during assigned shift ensuring acceptable behavior and performance, which meets expectations. This includes providing immediate feedback to address inappropriate behavior, poor service, and authority to send someone home.
  • Communicating with other department leaders on staffing shortages & overages during your shift.
  • Effectively completing necessary opening or closing procedures
  • Responsible for notifying other department heads of system problems during your shift.
Assigned Area/Areas (during hours away from the TL desk):
  • Initial and ongoing training of employees on the team for tasks specific to your area/areas of accountability (i.e. education, baker’s tasks, task delegation, scheduling, project coordinator, web, gourmet)
  • Creation and maintenance of training guidelines and necessary resources for tasks specific to area/areas of accountability.
  • Identify and communicate to the Customer Support Supervisor, opportunities for, roadblocks to, and suggestions for improving service, quality, and efficiencies in your area/areas of accountability.
  • Tracking the group’s performance and reporting to the Customer Support Supervisor as requested.
  • Effectively guide the assigned group for your area/areas of accountability in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Act as a resource and problem solver for issues within your area/areas of accountability.

Senior Programmer/Analyst

We are searching for a senior programmer/analyst responsible for the software systems used in day to day operation of the business. This involves maintenance, project leadership, and hands-on technical work to accomplish goals. Reports to Director of Information Services.

Essential responsibilities

Operations
  • Manages the implementation and maintenance of business applications systems
  • Participates in the evaluation of new business application systems
  • Detects, diagnoses, and resolves problems with business application systems
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of the integration and relations between multiple complex application systems
  • Manages the reporting and data analysis needs of users
  • Works with users to define system requirements and resolve problems
  • Works with internal business units to identify opportunities for system enhancements
  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of vendors
  • Handles problems with vendors or products as necessary
Project management

Experience/qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years experience in a multi-channel environment supporting operations
  • Strong understanding of business processes including supply chain, inventory, sales, marketing, and forecasting
  • Experience evaluating current practices for efficiencies and improvements
  • Knowledge of SQL, XML, and one common programming language
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills including ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks, and follow through to completion of task or project

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant provides advanced administrative support for the President and General Manager, Flour.

Essential responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including appointment management;
  • Provide high-level support and administration of business meeting coordination, including scheduling of meetings, agenda preparation, appropriate minute/action items, preparation/distribution;
  • Assist the President in all aspects of Board of Directors and Committee meetings, including travel arrangements, agenda preparation, and production and delivery of Board information books prior to scheduled meetings;
  • Collect and prepare information and presentations for use in discussions and meetings with staff members and corporate business partners, lawyers, accountants, analysts, etc.;
  • Prepare letters and memoranda from verbal and written direction and/or from knowledge of organization policy and procedures;
  • Obtain relevant information and follow through extensively on requests requiring action by President and General Manager;
  • Process and handle highly confidential information;
  • Screen and handle telephone calls, mail and visitors with professionalism and discretion;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the President and General Manager;
  • Availability to work an expanded business day as occasionally required;

Experience/qualifications

  • Five years high-level administrative experience in a related position plus Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience;

Sales Manager

Market area coverage for the Sales Manager includes the West Coast (Denver west). This position requires experience in the bakery business or related fields. The Sales Manager must have solid selling skills, demonstrated sales and marketing ability, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Sales Manager must be able to work in an unstructured environment, be a strategic thinker and work as part of a team. Willingness to travel weekly is essential.

Essential responsibilities

  • Strategy, sales planning, distributor management, setting and achieving sales goals;
  • Participate with team members in creating overall strategy for the division, including plans for existing markets and new market entries;
  • In the area of distributor management, strives to build and have in place a network of distributors that are of a character and ability to accurately and honestly represent the interests of King Arthur Flour, its values and goals;
  • Manages the distributors with a participatory style, allowing for much input into the planning process;
  • Ongoing responsibility to train and educate distributors;
  • Budgeting for designated markets, including controlling costs, planning and monitoring of promotional funds, deduction handling, monitoring of advertising costs, show costs, etc.;

Catalog Product Manager/Buyer

The Product Manager/Buyer will create strategy and vision to drive business, maximize category success and lead many of the processes that are required to get product from conception to market.

Essential responsibilities

  • Seasonally manage catalogue process including creating and maintaining a spreadsheet for all products to achieve financial goals including: sales dollars and units, gross margin, and inventory turn.
  • Source new products and manage the process

  • Determine packaging by working closely with repackaging department.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations.
  • Negotiate pricing, price breaks, shipping, minimums, packaging, terms, discounts and allowances.
  • Keep current with trends and new products via trade show attendance, trade magazines and vendor-supplied information.
  • Analyze category and item performance to make decisions about assortment, pricing and channel distribution (catalogue, Web, retail);
  • Support other divisions with product development as needed (Gourmet, Family Flour);

Experience/qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in category buying, food technology and/or culinary experience a plus.
  • Strong computer and word processing skills, including MS Office Suite (advanced functionality of Excel/Word and CWDirect).
  • Strong analytical and financial skills along with proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, across the organization.
