There are so many ways that you can bake for good!
You can create a nutritious meal to fill undernourished bellies, or host a bake sale to support a cause near and dearlike No Kid Hungry. Nothing says thank you quite like a plate of warm cookieswhy not share with your local fire department, or your child's favorite teacher? Baking for good can even be as simple as baking for your friends and neighbors, just to make them smile.
While the name is new, King Arthur Flour has been living the initiative for a long time
For over 20 years, our free Bake for Good: Kids Program (formerly Life Skills Bread Baking Program) has traveled all over the country helping kids learn to bake and share their homework with those in need. An employee owned company, King Arthur Flour gives thousands of dollars every year in employee time and direct donations to charities nationwide. And who can forget our mission to share the pure joy of baking, with over 2,500 free, expert-tested recipes on our website just for you.
April is bake for good month and King Arthur Flour hit the road last April to spread the word
We embarked on a mission to inspire folks around the country to join the movement, stopping in Los Angeles, Seattle, and the Twin Cities. Behind the scenes we'll be teaching some of our favorite bloggers to bake, and then helped them use their newfound skills to put on a dinner for homeless members of their local community. On the street, we gave out delicious treats and free bags of flour to folks who would like to bake for good and share the joy of baking with someone they appreciate. Who will you bake for?
We're inviting you to share your own bake for good stories
