Todd Andrews
Sales Manager, Bakery Food Service
Todd Andrews joined King Arthur Flour in 2008 as the company’s Sales Manager for Bakery Food Service customers in the Western region. He works with bakery clients everywhere from Denver to the west coast, opening up a new market for King Arthur Flour.
Todd started in the food industry studying hotel and restaurant management around the country, including through a competitive internship at Walt Disney World in Florida. The heart of Todd’s bakery experience, though, comes from owning and operating Loafers Old World Bread Bakery and Coffee House, headquartered in Bingen, Wash. Todd spent eight years focusing on artisan breads and growing his business from a single shop to include two production facilities and four retail locations, servicing 40 wholesale accounts and employing 30 people in the Columbia River Gorge region of Washington and Oregon. When the opportunity arose, Todd sold the business and took some time to focus on family life with his wife and three young sons – but he learned he couldn’t stay away from the baking business for long. He soon went to work for Artisan Baking Resources as a bakery consultant and equipment salesperson, touring and working with bakeries not only on the West Coast but throughout the country, and as far away as Germany, Austria and France.
“The common denominator that I found in the most successful bakeries was their level of quality and consistency. That’s what brought me to King Arthur Flour, because when you use only one key ingredient, you want it to be the best,” Todd says. “The thing I love about baking is that it’s down-to-earth; it’s a craft. King Arthur Flour’s principles and standards don’t ever waver. It’s a product worthy of a craftsman.”
Working directly with his clients is Todd’s favorite part of the job. “I love having the chance to work with bakers and actually put on an apron and help test recipes,” he says. “You need a good team to offer the product and you need good service to back it up with, and that’s what we’re all about.”
Most of Todd’s non-working time is spent at home in White Salmon, Wash., with his wife Alicia and sons Fletcher, Ethan and Calvin, who keep him busy with sports and other activities. Todd also enjoys cooking and baking for his family.
