Fits a whole 16oz bag of yeast and can also hold a 16oz bag of diastatic wheat powder. Latches nice and tight with a sturdy gasket.

I have to agree with the majority here in saying this is an excellent container for yeast. I keep mine in the freezer and it is rarely out for more than a couple minutes (just long enough to measure). I've had mine for years and have no rust issues either.

I love my yeast canister. It fits in my freezer door, holds a whole bag of yeast, it stays dry and I just dip into it with my measuring spoon, take out as much as I need and put it back in. I don't have any rust on mine and I've been using it for 4 years or more. Maybe the rust issue has something to do with the freezer. Such as- is it self defrosting or not? Mine is very sturdy- I've even dropped it a few times and it shows no damage and the lid is easy to open and close.

Holds a pound of yeast with no problem. The size is perfect for my freezer, keeping my yeast handy and fresh. I've noticed though that the metal trim is starting to rust.

Feels like a really solid product and does its job. Attractive product. Holds the whole bag of saf instant yeast, also purchased from this site. Couldn't find anything similar in local stores or on Amazon.

nice heavy plastic and a good seal. I would use this for more than just yeast storage.

I have two of these and I plan to purchase three more. Each one that I currently have holds a pound of SAF yeast (one each for red and gold), and it has a nice, wide mouth, good for scooping. It is true that there is no spot for a yeast scoop on the jar, but I don't use one. I bake every day, often more than once (for example, yeast coffeecake and focaccia), and I prefer canisters for all the little odds and ends, such as potato flour, diastatic malt powder, gluten, etc. This comes in two sizes, a smaller and a larger. Very nice.

I was very dissapointed in the yeast canister. It will not hold the yeast spoon measurer and it will not hold an entire bag of instant yeast.
I'm sorry you don't like the yeast canister. Give us a call and we'll see what we can do to make you happy. Molly@KAF
