Care and use of shortbread stoneware pans
- Hand wash prior to first use. Do not use soap or detergent. Not recommended for an automatic dishwasher.
- Seasoning will occur naturally with time and use. You may want to brush lightly with cooking oil for the first few uses. Do not use nonstick spray as it may leave a sticky residue.
- Stoneware is heat-resistant to 450°F (230°C). It may be used in conventional, convection and microwave ovens. Do not use stoneware under direct heat such as under a broiler.
- For the best imprint from your stoneware pan, place the shortbread dough in the center of the pan, working it out towards the edges with your fingers. As the shortbread bakes, use a spatula to pat down any air bubbles that might appear.
