My husband loves apple pie. I hate to make apple pie. At least, I used to. This gadget, while not perfect, eliminated my biggest bugaboo, trying to cut apples in even 1/4-inch slices so they'd cook evenly. It does have some quirks, so take your time and watch what's going on as you use it the first few times. You'll soon get the hang of it.

I received this as a gift because I make a lot of apple pies. However, I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I can peel apples, but that's about it. I can't get it to core or slice. The instructions that came with it were extremely short and of no help. What do I need to do to get this thing to slice and core?
Check the coring/slicing blade at the end of the peeler. If it is in the down position, loosen the wing nut and set it up so the prong of the fork fits into the round hole in this silver coring/slicing blade. You can always call and we will help you work through this (800-827-6836). Irene @ KAF

Couldn't be happier with it. Ran through half a dozen Fujis in just a few minutes. Tomorrow I'm making apple crisp for 100 and not dreading it!

My husband got this for me as a gift. It doesn't work at all! I have tried adjusting the blade, using the corer, not using the corer, etc. It cuts erratically, and leaves large amounts of the peel on the apple. It also takes a pretty big thick amount of the peel when it does cut. I would love to love this and have someone tell me what I am doing wrong. But I suspect it just wont work on an apple that is large or not perfectly round.
What type of apples are you using? I've found this works best on harder (read less water content here) apples like Cortland or Granny Smith, but less successful on the Macs. The freshest apples possible helps also...Irene @ KAF

Absolutely the best corer around - simple, effective and makes light work of alot of apples. The only shortcoming is if your apple is very odd shaped - you'll sometimes end up with some of the core inside

I actually have a slightly different model, ours will attach like a vise to the countertop. While I am partial to that model, the key is that this truly is a fantastic apple corer/peeler and the kids love to do the work as well. While I haven't tried it, supposedly it will handle potatoes as well.

We peeled, cored, and sliced enough apples to make 3 pies on our first try. We were so proud of our accomplishment, but all the credit goes to this handy little device which is easy to set up, easy to operate, and easy to clean--even for us.

This is the best way to peel and slice apples for any use. Simple to operate and clean. Peels potatoes quickly and makes great thin "shoestrings" for french fries or home fries.

These are perfect for anyone that makes a lot of apple pies. You can also run potatoes through them. And believe it or not, in a pinch; I used the suction cup to hold glass as I was installing a new window. Talk about a multi-tasker!
