I LOVE this book! The methods are rediculously simple to follow and the results superb. Someone enquirered about the flavor, but as an experienced baker, can say . . .the flavor is as good as the knead breads from bakeries. My only criticism is the lack of weight measurements. But for my most frequently used recipes, I've converted in the margins. Can't recommend this book enough.

The method in this book is revolutionary and results are flawless! I gave it to my Foodie niece along with dough whisk, SAF yeast and dough-rising bucket. She's having a grand time with it all.

I bought this book in January, and I have been making homemade bread ever since! I have a demanding career, 60 hour work weeks, and travel. Making fabulous bread, however, is the one thing for which I can consistently find time, and my family genuinely appreciates it. I make the bread on parchment paper in a Dutch oven, rather than a pizza stone. The results are tremendous!

The cookbook sounds enticing so after a little research I ordered it from Overstock.com for $17.26 which included shipping. Everybody appreciates a good product for a good price!

This book is PERFECT for the casual at-home baker, who is too busy with the other things in life to spend endless hours researching the ins and outs of bread making - tips and techniques, the chemistry and science behind it, etc. ABin5 provides an easy, almost fool-proof recipe for making homemade bread every day. That being said, this book is not up to par with other bread making books. If you are seriously interested in learning how to bake bread, this is not the book for you. The resulting bread tastes highly of yeast, the flavors aren't amazing, and there is not the same feeling of satisfaction and understanding as when using the traditional method. I use these recipes from time to time if life gets in the way, but I much prefer to make my bread in the traditional way.

An excellent complement to KAF Baking cookbook. In the past bread making was done only by my wife, but the past few months I have done most of the baking. Great recipes/ great bread, and so easy.

Fantastic book! We have tried many of the recipes and every one has been delicious. I have the rye dough in my fridge right now and will probably make a loaf tonight.

20 years ago I tried and tried to make bread with lousy results. This past year I was determined to teach myself how to bake bread that was edible and fun. I came across this book and it was something I could do and gave it a try. Fabulous! results. If you've never made a decent loaf of bread try this book. After your wonderful results, I hope it gives you the courage to to venture out and try some of the traditional loaves out there. PS. The olive oil bread from this book is the best pizza dough out there and make the rosemary foccacia bread, it will become addictive!

Nearly everyone is right. This is a very good book, best used with very good ingredients. Even better when shared with friends. Best way to share: Put a distinctive cover on the book. Add your name. Take it the dentist, Dr's office, physical therapy, knitting group, etc., Be willing to have one person be responsible and be willing to leave the book for two to four weeks. When you go to retrieve it, be gracious about accepting all the thanks from people that looked, baked, and bought. I have an extra copy just so I could have one for circulation. It's very inexpensive goodwill.

I've been baking for years and wanted to learn a new method for baking. I ordered this book on my Kindle App in my kitchen iPad and made my first dough. It was the soft white bread and it was AWFUL. The dough was very strong smelling on the 2nd day and when I baked up a loaf, it failed to come to a nice rise. My husband had toast and asked me not to make it anymore as it tasted like fermented yeast.. it was pretty bad. I just hope that I can try another formula in this book - otherwise, I wasted $$ on the book. I can understand it's usefulness to someone who is busy, but at the end of the day, the loaf does not live up to the hype.. you can't shortcut GOOD BREAD!
I am sorry to hear that you did not have success with one of the recipes in this book. Please call our Baker's Hotline at 1-800-827-6836 and we can help you troubleshoot way may have happened. Keri @ KAF
