My 3-year-old son and I made these tonight and they were delicious! So easy, so flavorful, so yummy. We'll definitely be doing it again.

These are nothing like oil-fried doughnuts. Instead, they're a lot more like doughnut-shaped spice cakes. They're not particularly sweet and they have a cake crumb. That said, if you're not expecting to bite into a traditional doughnut, they're *delicious.* I did find that I needed to circle each doughnut with a chopstick to get it to release from the doughnut pan, and the box says that for glaze ideas I can come to KAF - which I did, and the only glaze idea I was able to find was on the coconut doughnut recipe. We need easy-to-search glaze recipes! Anyway, my whole household loves them, but if you're having a real doughnut craving, these won't satisfy.

I made these doughnuts today and honestly, they don't taste anything like doughnuts. Even my kids didn't like them. The "doughnuts" had the consistency of muffins (very light textured). I made them at high altitude, though, so that might have accounted for the texture.
It is true these do not taste the same as doughnuts that are fried. So they are missing that taste of fat. But they are so much healthier. Joan@bakershotline

I baked these with my 4 year old grandson. It was fun and easy. We frosted with chocolate frosting and completed the job with lots of rainbow sprinkles

I have the mini pan and making donuts with the mix is a snap. I miss the big bag though - I would often make a half recipe for a quick snack and the large bag was easy to reseal.

This mix, and the resulting donuts were FANTASTIC!!! Made them for my husband before he went to work, and he was so surprised. It only took a total of 30 minutes from mixing to finished baking before we were enjoying fresh cinnamon-sugared donuts. The funny part: our son called (he's in another state), told HIM about the donuts........and their ease of prep and he ordered pans for his family.....guess we've started a new family tradition.......thanks to King Arthur!! I can totally endorse the quality of the mix, the pans (used the standard 6-well pan.....will use the 12-well mini pan when company comes), and reliability of this wonderful King Arthur product.....Thanks. A very, satisfied baker.
