Aggravated by cake layers that wobble when you stack 'em?

these are easy to use and work exactly as they say they do. my cakes come out just fine and i've used them well over 50 times. i do however, wish they made them in much larger sizes because for much larger pans, i'd need a couple extra sets to fit together.

Easy to use and I get flat tops every time with no center mush as mentioned by others. They have to be soaked long enough to absorb sufficient water and should not be wrung out. Just gently swipe the excess water from the surfaces. This makes them a little sloppy on the counter but the results are worth it. I put them on after the batter is in the pan so they can go straight into the oven. I had some that required pins and never would fit snug enough, plus I kept sticking my fingers! Love this product and I'm ordering an extra set.

This really did bake a level cake...the drawback was the sides of the cake were a little "mushy" while the cake center was done.

I was skeptical about the ability of the strips to bake a level layer. But, they worked wonderfully. Finally, no more wobbly layers.

I have 2 sets of these and absolutely love them. Every cake turns out perfectly level now. They can be a bit of a pain to keep on the pans, but they work so well they're worth the small aggravation.

I bought these a year ago and I they worked for me just fine. Much easier to handle than my old strips, which had to be pinned. As a matter of fact, the red velvet cake I made last week, the tops were flat....no dome. The only thing I would reccommend is watching your bake times. For my red velvet cake, without the strips my bake time was 30 minutes. With the strips about 35-40 minutes.

Disappointment. Forget these if you have the Air Bake cake pans. They won't fit around the pans due to the pans' outer layer circumference. Of course I tried to force them to fit anyways, but they just sprung open once they were in the oven. This is the only time I've been disappointed in a KAF purchase. I have no idea why the manufacturers did not make these even one inch longer.

I have tried 2 brands of these strips. Unfortunately, they do not fit around my pans. The first set I had to use safety pins and could only pin the tag and barely a piece of the strip. The new velcro set doesn't fit either. I am very surprised that the companies making these products don't test them first. It does not make sense to me that they don't fit 8 and 9 inch pans without having to use safety pins, etc. They do work if you can get them on the pans.
Michelle, I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with the cake strips. I just tried out the ones on our sample shelf. First I do love these and they do work. However, you need the right size pan for them to fit properly. I wanted to make a double layer square cake and even though they were 8" the strips would not stay on. I had to use my round cake pans that were deeper. There really does need to be two sizes of strips.
You can pin them together to cover bigger pans,and pin them where you need to to get them to fit, overlapping them if needed. Mary @ KAF

These cake strips are one of the BEST inventions sice sliced bread! My cakes turn out perfectly now. I just wish they came in a length that would fit around an 8" or 9" square pan for when I make KAF's Coconut Cake! Than you for this wonderful product!
