I love fruitcake. Today I made this one, adding some extra dried fruit, and brushing the warm tops with Brandy. The box made 3 small loaves and one medium loaf. We ate one small loaf while it was still warm...I know we were supposed to wait 24 hrs. I can say that it is delicious warm even though it was difficult to slice. The texture was more like a quick bread rather than a fruitcake. Is that because I only brushed the tops with the liquor and didn't soak them? Now I'd like to freeze two loaves. Has anyone had good luck doing that? I'd like King Arthur to mention proper storage and freezing possibilities for their recipes. I'm thinking I can wrap and freeze this just like any quick bread.

My family and friends that like fruit cake loved it...they can't get enough..thanks for such a great product, the fruit is nothing like we've has before!

I made this fruitcake last year for my mom and dad for the first time!! They raved about it. So this year I ordered the mix and had it shipped to them so they could make it themselves. But they didn't want to mess anything up so I made them today for them. We made two complete mixes and added an extra bag of fruit plus two pounds of pecans. Dad loves pecans! We made two loaf pans plus 7 small loafs. I told mom this should last you all year, but mom said dad will probably eat one small loaf himself tonight. Thanks for a great product. I'm sure I'll be ordering more. Do you carry this all year long?

I was disappointed to discover that the fruitcake has a strong nutmeg flavor. Unfortunately, I hate the taste of it, and it isn't listed in the ingredients.

Very convenient to make in kit form. important to let set as directions say for a very flavorful result. I used brandy for the liquor.

I think this fruitcake mix is out of this world. No fruitcake mix rivals this brand.

I can't say enough about this fruitcake. I look forward to making it every year...not only does is taste great, but it's sooo pretty!
