The 12/06/11 reviewer is right. This cake is a little dry, but if you soak it with enough bourbon that problem goes away. Be sure to use good bourbon - I use Maker's Mark. I made two boxes of this this year and last and i will do it again or more next year. People love this cake - even my wife, who is picky about fruitcake, loves it. In fact that's why I started making it last year because I could never find a commercial fruitcake she really liked. I'm sold on this one!

Made this fruitcake today. It seemed to make more batter than listed. I got 6 mini- loaves and one regular sized loaf. It tastes delicious! Called and got internal temperature of baked loaf (209 degrees) so I used my oven probe and the cakes came out perfect. I'm glad to have such a good quality item to give as gifts.

I am very dissappointed with this mix. While the taste is ok, the cake is very dry and falls apart as you slice it. I can't serve it to anyone during the holidays, let alone give it away! I've never had any problems with a KAF product before, but unfortunately this mix is a complete waste of money.

The 4th year we've used this mix and have loved it every time! Consistent results, beautiful and fragrant golden cake, and the dried fruit sold with the kit is top notch. We soak the fruit in more alcohol than the recipe calls for, and use the drained off alcohol-syrup to brush on the cakes afterward - perfect!

First off this is so convenient because everything that you need is here and you only need the fresh ingredients. The finished product is wonderful. I just bought 4 sets of the complete mix to have on hand thru-out the year... it's so good that I have decided that it's not just for Christmas! Not your conventional fruitcake!

King Arthur complete fruitcake mix is the best. The flavor is better than any fruitcake I've ever eaten. And the dried fruit makes the cake. My only problem is that every time I make the cake it sticks to the bottom of the pan.

This is great fruitcake. I do not add the candied cherries, they are not necessary. Try this. You will love it.

Even though I myself am not a fan, I purchased this item because my husband likes fruitcake. Not only has he declared that this is the best fruitcake he has ever eaten, I enjoyed it as well! I will be ordering this product again.

Had to review this fine product again. The fruitcake is so light and delicious. Even though it is past the Christmas season, it hits the spot when you want a fruit pick up with your coffee, milk or tea?soul satisfying!
