BEST cake mix I've ever used! My husband declares it the best chocolate cake he's EVER had. Makes an awesome dense, moist cake. I used a bundt pan and didn't even use frosting. A little sprinkling of powdered sugar would work perfectly.

I made cupcakes with this mix yesterday and they were probably the best I've ever had! The cake was dense and moist. I made my own tried and true vanilla buttercream frosting. For a mix, these were excellent!

This is THE best chocolate cake mix that you can buy. I bake a lot and pride myself in tackling tough recipes and getting great results. However, everyone needs a couple of cake mixes around when you are in a pinch for time. Imagine how "horrified" I was when my brother and nephew declared this cake the favorite thing that I bake. Little did they know it was boxed cake, because I usually make everything homeade. My brother kept hounding me for the recipe until I admitted that it was a King Arthur mix. My family still loves the story.

Talk about Chocolate! Easy to prepare. Dark Chocolate flavor. Good with vanilla ice cream. Does not need chocolate frosting.

I am rating it 3 stars only with hopes that I can get some feedback on how to improve it! The sad part is that it's a mix and it failed terribly for me? Not sure if I did not allow for the cakes to cook long enough? Or if by using the chocolate chips? They all sank to the bottom and the cake sank in the middle too...as if it did not cook properly? I used to 8x2 round pans, lightly greased them and used parchment paper rounds at the bottom, also lightly floured and greased those as well? My cake pans are fat daddios and made of commercial aluminum? Not sure if the pans where the issue as well since they are not dark? I have tried the Yellow Golden Mix and made several recipes from scratch from this site and all have turned out beautifully! Although this one is absolutely rich and delicious, not sure if it's supposed to be that rich and gooey? Help! I really wanted this to work or a really...really...good chocolate cake recipe!
How frustrating! When these baking dilemmas happen, call one of our bakers at the Baker's Hotline (800-827-6836) and we will problem solve with you. Maybe altitude was a culprit? If so, check the tips on high altitude cooking under the recipe section of our website. There are so many variables here (altitude, ingredients, mix) that we welcome your call to work through this with you. Irene @ KAF

I made this cake for a Superbowl party. I used homemade seafoam icing on it. Talk about divine!

I fixed this for the Thanksgiving holiday and after 30 years of baking, this mix was as well received as any of my more elaborate from scratch cakes.
