When you follow the directions, this cake mix is delicious, and it really is easy too. I also recommend the King Arthur Chocolate Frosting Mix. I don't think it's possible to goof these up. I followed the directions for the cake mix, but I accidentally added the frosting mix instead (I can't think clearly when I need chocolate). Because I obviously wasn't in a directions following mood, I put what I thought was the prepared cake mix into a 9 x 13 Pyrex baking dish and baked it at 350. I was confused when it wasn't setting up, so I finally took it out of the oven when it jiggled slightly like a pumpkin pie when it's done (probably about 30-40 minutes , not sure). Yum! I don't know what you would call this, but it's really good. It crunchy on top and bottom and really fudgy in the middle. The best part is that one small piece satisfied my chocolate craving. I love a fool-proof product that allows for careless creativity!! Thanks King Arthur.

KAF products are quality products, and this cake is no exception. Gooey, moist, intensely chocolatey... in short wonderful. That being said, this is a heavy cake and not well suited to whip-cream frosting, which I prefer. The cake top slid off the bottom half as I had made a chocolate/whip-cream filling. It is best frosted with a butter-cream or a meringue. That being said, we slid it back on top and ate it anyway. So delicious. I will buy again. Your vanilla cake works well with whip-cream, by the way. It has an airier crumb. Love them both. Just thought you might want to know.

Oh my gosh, this makes the BEST chocolate cake I have ever eaten. I actually made a sheet cake with it - SUPER moist! Love it!!!

Baked this for some friends, who know I never use box mixes. They all wanted the recipe--the moistest, riches chocolate cake we've ever eaten. I bought each couple (10) a box to try themselves and get hooked on your products. One friend is celebrating his 76th birthday and requested I bake this for him. Thanks

This mix is so good that I jokingly told folks at the office I made it from scratch! When pressed for my recipe, I told them to go to King Arthur website and order it! They were very surprised that a mix could taste so good. Definitely worth the price.

This was the tastiest, chocolate cake I have ever made from a mix!! Simple, simple, simple and absolutely the best. Everyone loved it. Very moist. I will definitely buy this mix again and again. It is now my favorite go to mix.
