Getting a rise out of your dough
Where, oh where can I find a nice warm (or cool enough), protected-from-drafts spot for my bread dough to rise? Try our dough-rising bucket:
- 9" x 8" tall, 6-quart capacity.
- Tough, easy-to-tote.
- Impact- and stain-resistant.
- Dishwasher-safe.
- Made of polypropylene.
Cleaning Tip: After your dough has finished rising, do not wash the container immediately nor set it to soak. Instead, keep the lid off until it dries out completely and then scrape the dried dough from the container into the waste basket. It will take only an instant to wash and you will not have a gooshy mess to get rid of. To scrape the container easily before you wash it, use a plastic scraper or a rough plastic mesh, such as the bags onions, shallots and garlic are often sold in.

Easy to use - makes it a snap to tell when my artisan bread dough has doubled. Fits really easily into the refrigerator. I don't know how I got along without it!

Light weight, easy to clean, easy to read markings on the outside. Multiple buckets stack. Pretty much perfect.

I purchased this item when I first started using No Knead recipes. I have used it so many times I can't even count. It's great with the markings on the side to really measure the rise. I've only ever washed it by hand, the numbers have not faded nor has the container become cloudy.

I think its a little bigger than I needed but will use it when I have room in the fridge.

Perfect size for the no-knead bread.

Great bucket.. Since I only use it for dough, I heated up an ice pick and poked a couple holes in the middle of the top to let gasses escape...

I have a question. I make a large recipe when I make my bread (24 cups of flour - 8-10 loaves). I love the idea of this bucket but can some one tell me what size recipe on bucket will hold?
The bucket has a 6 quart capacity. I would not try using it for your exceptionally large recipe, probably about 10+ quarts of dough (?). For a batch that size, I suggest a 5 gallon bucket. Frank @ KAF.

As some other reviewers have noted, many other containers could serve the same purpose as this, but not as conveniently or well. Just wish it were cheaper, so it would be easier to justify having a few......A joy to use.

I don't know how I managed before I had my dough rising bucket. I use it all the time. The bucket takes all the guess work out of when dough has doubled in bulk.

When I first saw them I thought "oh no" they will be too big!!! But I was so wrong, as they are the perfect size to hold my artisan bread dough, and now no more overflowing dough over my large mixing bowls. And they fit in my refrigerator fine. I now own 4 of them 2 for home and 2 for the cabin.
