Our favorite mixing pal
We've sold thousands of these whisks over the years; we use them at our national bread-baking classes, and once folks see how they work, they just have to have one!
• Thick, wooden handle provides a more ergonomic grip.
• Blends stiff bread doughs - no problem!
• Unique whisk design gently blends delicate batter.
• Fashioned of beechwood and stainless steel.
• Features our King Arthur Flour logo.
• Measures 15 inches in length.
WHY WE LOVE IT: This wacky looking tool has been in our catalogue since the very first issue–that’s 17 years and 152 catalogue ago! It just keeps selling, and selling, and selling… and for good reason. Unlike a wooden spoon, yeast dough doesn’t glom onto it as you stir. Nor does it get mired in the whisk wires. Yet, despite its “flow through” appearance, this tool mixes yeast dough, stiff or soft, brilliantly. Thousands of bakers enjoy this dough whisk—how about you?

This summer I started baking breads to sell at a farmers' market and I am using this whisk more and more. It makes short work of doughs with 8-9 cups of flour and is less to clean up than a Kitchen Aid mixer! How's that for a handy tool?

I really like this item for one big reason, I am an over mixer, and this doesn't let me over do it in the whisking department. I took this and a cream scone mix with me on a recent trip to an out of state visit to a friend. Both were big hits at her house.

I got this whisk in a gift basket a friend sent for my birthday. I can cream butter and sugar with this whisk in less time than it takes to get my food processor out of the cabinet. It is amazing.

I use this to bake yeast bread the old fashioned way. It definitely helps incorporate the flour quickly and easily. I have broken many wooden spoons mixing bread dough. This is a sturdy item and it does the job well. Dough does get stuck in the creavices, but the ease of mixing is well worth the clean up.

I use it when I feed my sourdough starter. The starter when cold is pretty sticky but by using the dough whisk it is very easy to get it all stirred up and then the starter is ready to rest or be popped back into the refrigerator.

I am a totally lazy baker, I put everything in the kitchen aid and call it a day. This tool supports my lazy baker habits. I used the whisk for the first time this morning and it was mad easy, wonderfully efficient and easy to clean. A great took for the kitchen of a baker!!!!

It's a decent tool, but the handle is rough and unpleasant to the touch. Oiling it does not fix this, the problem is that the handle needs sanding. Of course it's not the end of the world to do so yourself (as I did) but it would have been nice if the maker had finished the job properly.
