I used the dried buttermilk powder in an Irish Soda Bread today. I loved the way it turned out. So much easier than buying a quart and then figuring out how to use it! The method of mixing it with the dry ingredients as directed is the secret to best results.

I love using this buttermilk powder in a range of recipes. Because I often don't keep fresh milk on hand, I use buttermilk powder to substitute in biscuits, pancakes, cornbread and more! Great product!

I used the powder with water, per the instructions, to make 1 cup buttermilk for a layer cake recipe. The layers did not rise as usual, so the cake was a disappointment. The powder may work for smaller liquid quantities.
Did you mix the powder with water and then added it to the batter? Next time, try adding the powder with the dry ingredients and the water with the liquid, that will work better. Molly @ KAF

I made a buttermilk bread with this product and it came out wonderfully. The flavor was rich and the ease of use was a snap. I can never quite use up the liquid buttermilk I buy at the store, so this stuff is very economical too!

This high-quality buttermilk powder stores well in the refrigerator and is convenient for a number of breads and cakes that I bake. My local Whole Foods carries another brand but only sporadically, so I'm glad KAF offers this superior product.
