Espresso powder: the secret ingredient in your chocolate specialties.
Espresso powder is a must-have ingredient if you bake with chocolate. Here’s why:
- Use 1/2 to 2 teaspoons in chocolate baked goods, frostings, and sauces for terrific extra chocolate-y flavor.
- Use 2 teaspoons or more to create mocha flavor.
- Or use on its own to add clean, strong coffee flavor to frostings, bars, cakes, & cookies.
- To substitute for coffee in recipes: use 1 teaspoon dissolved in 1 cup hot water for each cup of regular coffee. For "extra-strong" coffee, use up to 1 tablespoon + 1 cup hot water for each cup.
- Ground, brewed, then dried from specially selected coffee beans.
- Powder readily dissolves for easy mixing.
- Available in 2-ounce container, about 1 cup.
CUSTOMER REVIEW: "Hi, I just have to tell you that I bought three jars of your espresso powder. At first I was going to buy one but with no shipping costs I thought, why not, if I don't like it I can give the other jars as gifts. FAT CHANCE that is going to happen. I LOVE this stuff. I have made all sorts of cappuccinos and lattes with this powder. Today I made an Espresso Toffee Fudge and this is the most delicious fudge I have ever tasted. I will be buying more espresso as I run out. I also see so many recipes I really want to try and items that I will be buying. The best thing I ever did for myself was take a step out in faith to buy this espresso powder from King Arthur. You have a very happy customer and one who will return."

I originally purchased this to use with chocolate but decided to use it to come up with a "coffee" cookie instead. Boy did I! They are so good they don't last long ! I add in some of the Coffee flavoring in an icing and it's better than a cup of coffee!

I love this stuff and use it all the time. Can you please sell this in larger quantities? A one-pound size would do!

I'm too old to believe in magic BUT this product did magical things to my chocolate cake. I had always been happy with this cake but adding this but it into another realm. Thanks KAF

I use this in a barbeque sauce recipe that has become my all-time favorite. The espresso powder gives the sauce an undertone of flavor and helps harmonize the tart and sweet from the other ingredients. I've been asked for the recipe many times and usually have to explain what espresso powder is (I didn't know before either.) No one can find the powder in stores near us, so I've been sparingly sharing my stash and generously loaning my King Arthur catalog. Thanks for carrying espresso powder!

I have only tried this in Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies and it is awesome. Everyone who tries them loves them but can't place what it is that makes them special. When I tell them, then they can tell what it is.

This has become an essential kitchen staple for me. I just made some cream scones and added a few teaspoons of expresso powder to them along with some chocolate chunks. I burnt my tongue as they smelled so good when I took them out of the oven, I could not wait to try them. I now have a new favorite scone, expresso- chocolate chunk scones. This powder has so many uses, just having it on hand inspires you to be creative to find new ways to use it. And it makes a great cup of coffee (coming from someone who hates instant coffee).

This is easier to work with than the grocery store espresso powder. Measuring is easier because it is a finer powder. It might lump up (you're not using it fast enough!), just stir a time or two and any lumps break back into the fine powder. Supermarket brand turns into a useless-for-baking-rock. I dissolve it directly in my vanilla. It is slow to dissolve, but the results are wonderful in baking.

I'm like other commenters...I do not like the taste of coffee so I was hesitant about using. However, I taste no coffee flavor in the recipe, just rich chocolate flavor. I am excited to shake some into double chocolate cookies and brownies too! Thanks for a great product! That's what makes KAF so cool...cool ideas and ingredients!
