Here at The Baker's Catalogue, we have to restrain ourselves from using Fiori di Sicilia in EVERYTHING! We think it's second only to vanilla, as far as flavorful multi-tasking goes.

  • A Baker’s Catalogue exclusive!
  • An all-natural combination of citrus and vanilla with a pleasingly floral aroma.
  • Use about 1/2 teaspoon in a typical recipe for cookies, pound cake, pie, meringues, sweet bread, etc.
  • Italians use Fiori di Sicilia ("flowers of Sicily") to scent their panettone and pandoro.
  • For best freshness, refrigerate after opening. And caution, don't spill it on the counter, please – it stains.
  • 1 oz. bottle.

Ah, Fiori... where should you start? Check out our easy American-Style Panettone. And our Holiday Butter Cookies are wonderfully flavorful.

TEST KITCHEN TIP: You know that wonderful marriage of flavors you taste when you combine vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet in the same bowl? That’s what Fiori di Sicilia tastes like. We find that using it in just about anything mild and sweet–anything where competing flavors, like chocolate, don’t interfere–adds a wonderfully mysterious taste. Your friends will be guessing just what you’ve done to your sugar cookies or yellow cake or sweet bread to make them taste SO good!

this made my holiday bread taste artificial - also tasted as if it came from a bakery - not what I like from home-baked breads

Should I use in place of or in addition to vanilla in recipes? I am torn as to what to do.
You can use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of Fiori in place of the vanilla called for in a vanilla or fruit recipe. It's absolutely delicious! Molly @ KAF

i just bought this and wondering how to use it..do i use it in place o vanilla ot another extract?
You can use 1/2 teaspoon in a recipe, instead of the vanilla. You might also consider adding less vanilla and just a drop of Fiori to give that certain flavor to your baked goods. Irene @ KAF

Incorporate half a teaspoon in your next bowl of mashed sweet potatoes. Incredible.

My only complaint is this is going to affect my waistline!!! Added to KAF sugar cookie recipe and it was heaven! Definately reminds me of a creamsicle, but it's delicate. Left the house smelling fantastic too! Worth every single penny.

How long is the shelf life for this. I'd like to get a few bottles to have on hand and to include in gift packages. Thanks.
Once opened, store in the fridge, it has an indefinite shelf life. Frank @ KAF.

This stuff is the BEST. It is wonderful in everything sweet. I also simmer it on my stove with some water and it makes the house smell wonderful. Thank you for another GREAT product.

Wonderful orange-vanilla flavoring, just be careful how much you use. It would be helpful if this product was available in a dropper bottle--you literally only need one or two drops to flavor bread, muffins, or cookies.
