Citrus and vanilla
Here at The Baker's Catalogue, we have to restrain ourselves from using Fiori di Sicilia in EVERYTHING!
- A Baker’s Catalogue exclusive!
- A combination of citrus and vanilla with a pleasingly floral aroma.
- Use about 1/2 teaspoon in a typical recipe for cookies, pound cake, pie, meringues, sweet bread, etc.
- Italians use it to scent their panettone and pandoro.
- Refrigerate after opening. And caution, don't spill it on the counter, please–it stains.
- Money-saving 4-oz. bottle.
TEST KITCHEN TIP: You know that wonderful marriage of flavors you taste when you combine vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet in the same bowl? That’s what Fiori di Sicilia tastes like. We find that using it in just about anything mild and sweet–anything where competing flavors, like chocolate, don’t interfere–adds a wonderfully mysterious taste. Your friends will be guessing just what you’ve done to your sugar cookies or yellow cake or sweet bread to make them taste SO good!

If this were a perfume, I'd wear it every day. Hands down my favorite flavor enhancer.

Used Fiori di Sicilia in the Cream Cheese Frosting for the KA's Carrot Cake I made. I used 1/2 teaspoon as recommended and it was spectacular. There was just a hint of orange essence. Very nice!!!

Fiori di Sicilia is a flavoring with a wonderful citrus aroma. I used it in a very old recipe for short cake to accompany strawberries or peaches. It was served at an Easter lunch after church to a group of very good cooks. Even though there were other desserts, the short cake received rave reviews and everyone wanted to know what gave it such a special flavor. Many thanks to all your patrons who warned about using too much of a good thing; I replaced about 1/8-1/4 tsp. of vanilla with Fiori di Sicilia. I am ordering a couple more bottles to give as gifts.

Try mixing some of this wonderful stuff in with lemonade (homemade if you can). Gives it such a delicious and different flavor boost.

I use a touch of this flavoring in frosting on cinnamon rolls. When I make the sauce for strawberry or raspberry pie, I add a drop to the sauce after it's cooked. No one can place the flavor. My husband, who is a home brewer adds it to Belgian beer during the brewing process. It would also be good as a additive to fruit salad.

I love, love this product. The bakeries in Italy have this scent when you walk in the store. Being of Italian descent, I use it in most of my baking...especially my Italian cookies.

I tried to use lemon, orange and vanilla extract to get the same flavor as the panetonne for my biscotti's but couldn't match the taste, then I saw the flavoring in your catalog. I thought hurray and thank you for the flavoring. I used it and it is great. Thanks again!

I use this in pumpkin bread, banana bread, white fruitcake, and sweet breads. I always get compliments and a question about why is the flavor different??? Great. I use it frequently.

I ordered this because the citrus and vanilla combo sounded divine. I made your Spritz cookie recipe with Fiori di Sicilia in it, and everyone loved the cookies. I just would love to use this extract in more recipes, so please let me know if the extract can be used in savory recipes as well as sweet recipes. I just wish that there was a KAF store in my area (near San Francisco). It would reallllly go over here.
