KAF exclusive
Here at The Baker's Catalogue, we have to restrain ourselves from using Fiori di Sicilia in EVERYTHING! We think it's second only to vanilla, as far as flavorful multi-tasking goes.
- A Baker’s Catalogue exclusive!
- A combination of citrus and vanilla with a pleasingly floral aroma.
- Use about 1/2 teaspoon in a typical recipe for cookies, pound cake, pie, meringues, sweet bread, etc.
- Italians use Fiori di Sicilia ("flowers of Sicily") to scent their panettone and pandoro.
- For best freshness, refrigerate after opening. And caution, don't spill it on the counter, please – it stains.
- 1 oz. bottle.
TEST KITCHEN TIP: You know that wonderful marriage of flavors you taste when you combine vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet in the same bowl? That’s what Fiori di Sicilia tastes like. We find that using it in just about anything mild and sweet–anything where competing flavors, like chocolate, don’t interfere–adds a wonderfully mysterious taste. Your friends will be guessing just what you’ve done to your sugar cookies or yellow cake or sweet bread to make them taste SO good!

I used the Fiori Di Sicilia flavoring this past Thursday when I made a pound cake. I used 1/2 tsp. of the flavoring and 1/2 tsp. of the Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract to flavor the cake and I used 1/2 tsp. of the Fiori Di Sicilia in the glaze that I put on the cake. I also used 2 Tablespoons of the cake enhancer in the cake batter and it was one of the best pound cakes I have ever tasted! I gave it to a friend for her birthday and she was extremely pleased. She also thought it was the best cake she had ever eaten also.

Expensive and worth every cent. Amazing aroma, and color. I used it the cream cheese frosting for a birthday cake with excellent results.

love this flavoring. i had read about it for a long time in the KAF catalog and on-line but never bought it. i've used it twice now in place of vanilla and really like the citrus-y flavor it lends to certain baked items.

I used this extract in a Tangerine Butter Cookie and it came out marvelously! I have also used it in a lemon pound cake. Very Flavorful and different!

This flavor was very disappointing. It smells good in the bottle, but when I used it in the creme that went into my cream puffs, it tasted more like lemon rind with vanilla.
Sorry this didn't work out. Please call us at 800-827-6836.

Amazing! In addition to baked goods, I used it instead of vanilla in a batch of nougat with roasted almonds at Christmas and everyone went wild for it.

What a fabulous flavoring. Makes everything I use it in a little more distinctive and delicious, and I've started to give it to baking friends as a gift. Just wish you could make it more affordable...maybe by offering a larger size?
Fiori Di Sicilia now also offered in 4 ounce size in addition to the 1 ounce size. Item 2475 (4 ounces) sells for $19.95. Irene @ KAF

I added this to a family fruitcake this year. It was a wonderful addition. Just the right punch to the recipe.

It makes all the difference in my cream cheese frosting for carrot cake.

Joining the chorus of praises. This is a wonderful flavoring. It gives baked goods a subtle vanilla/citrus flavor and delicious aroma. Other than vanilla itself, this is our go to flavoring. It may seem a bit pricey but a little goes a long way. Definitely worth it.
