I am thrilled that these are FINALLY back. I got one pack, foolish me, at the end of the season and when I tried to order more they were gone. My 2-year-old grandson loved them. The entire day he kept saying "I love gingerbread, Grandma." What could I do but give him more? He doesn't normally eat this kind of thing so that is a real compliment.

These were a big hit because I added crystallized ginger. I agree that the dough/batter was quite soft, but I used a silicone scone pan. The results were tasty, tender and delicious.

This is my favorite of the scone mixes I have tried. The taste is great. I find that if you add a splash more milk than what the recipe call for and don't bake them too long, they come out with a great texture. The prepared mix does tend to be a little wet, especially with me adding that extra milk, but since I use a scone pan, it's not a problem.

This is the first scone mix I ever tried, and it was absolutely delicious. We all loved it.

The dough was very wet when mixed, too wet to form into scones easily. Once baked, they were very dry and crumbly and quite bland.
I am sorry you were not met with success. A few things come to mind if you found your batter to be very soft. Did you start with cold ingredients (liquid, butter pieces, egg)? And did you use a large egg?Baking with whole grains does make for a more dense, heavier texture. Also, traditional scones do not taste like a muffin in that scones are less sweet. I did not care for the flavor of these scones at all. I had gingerbread in France and it was delicious, so I was looking forward to trying this flavor, but this mix has too much of a clove or allspice in it. I brought them to work and they were given a thumbs down as well.
Thank you for posting your comment. Please do not hesitate to contact customer service for a refund if you did not care for this mix. MJR @ KAF
