The flavor of these chips is excellent; smooth and rich. The reason they lose a star is because I feel like they're TOO small; they seem to get lost in the dough and don't do justice to their flavor. I've tried them in cookies and butterscotch brownies. In order to make their flavor noticeable in the cookies, I ended up pressing a bunch of them into the top of the cookies before baking (in addition to the ones added to the dough directly) to concentrate the chocolate. For reference, they are even smaller than the cinnamon mini-chips sold here at KA flour. If they were just a touch larger, I'd give them five stars, because they do taste great.

If you've never used Guittard chocolate, you should consider it. The flavor is comparable to or better than chocolates costing 2-3 times as much. These little chips are perfect for sprinkling into cupcake frosting, yellow cake or a dish of ice cream, and of course, if you're making kid-sized chocolate-chip cookies, they're good for that too. But they're especially good to liven up plain pancake batter. You won't regret this purchase!
