We LOVE your mixes. We've even driven across Vermont to visit your place in Norwich... very charming!
This was our first disappointing mix. I adore pumpkin, and I agree with others that the spice (clove?) flavor overpowered the pumpkin. They were also dry, so the liquids may need adjustment to balance the whole grain flour. We enjoy your scones too much to rate this a 2, but we won't be buying this kind again.

I read the reviews for this product before purchasing. Still glad I decided to buy this one. It tasted pretty good. Only problem was that I had to adjust the baking time and temperature a few times. If I had put it on 400F and baked it for 14-16 minutes, it would have turned out overbrowned/black on the outside and underdone/raw on the inside. I did a combination of 400, 375, and then 350 (because it still needed that extra few minutes to finish baking on the inside). Other than this whole adjusting baking thing I was quite pleased with the end product. I don't mind the slightly (just slightly) dry mouthfeel of the scone; it makes it an even better candidate for toppings of cream, butter, and/or jams.

I loved this mix. The whole grain gave it heartiness and the spices were nicely balanced with the pumpkin. The little chunks of candied ginger were a wonderful addition. It was a hit at our house.

Not sure what spices were in the mix along with the ginger listed on the ingredients, but they overpowered the pumpkin flavor...but I prefer mostly cinnamon with my pumpkin and don't care for ginger or cloves.

I have made several different kinds of scones available from King Arthur and this was the first one I have ever been disappointed with. Perhaps because it was my first mix made with whole grains, but there was very little pumpkin flavor. Not like the other mixes I have tried.
