Fiber without the fuss

Hi-Maize® 5-in-1 Fiber is the easy way to a healthier diet. And now, it's certified gluten-free!

  • Gluten-free dietary fiber is derived from corn. It's an easy solution for adding fiber to your gluten-free diet.
  • One serving of Hi-Maize (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) contains 6g of non-soluble dietary fiber: about 20% to 25% of your suggested daily requirement.
  • Substitute for up to ¼ to 1/3 the flour in your baked goods; adjust up or down to taste.
  • Add to soups, sauces, and smoothies.
  • Wheat-free, soy-free, nut-free blend is packed in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
  • 12-ounce bag.
How it works: Most starches are digested and absorbed into the body through the small intestine, but some resist digestion and pass through to the large intestine where they act like dietary fiber and improve digestive health. This type of starch is called "resistant starch". Hi-maize® resistant starch combines the health benefits of resistant starch (including prebiotic properties) and the texture benefits of a high quality carbohydrate – e.g., white flour.

I add a quarter cup to all bread recipes and many cake recipes. Doesn't change the texture and adds fiber. I'm the only one who knows! A great product.

I always fell slightly guilty when I eat a white flour only product. Using this eases my mind! It blends in perfectly, and is completely unnoticeable. I only wish I had bought the 3 lb. bag!

I bought this because I make a lot of English Muffins and the recipe called for it. I usually just use more all purpose and I'm not sure if the difference in the muffins is due to the Hi-Maize or the fact that I switched from soy milk to regular milk but they are so much lighter and fluffier! Delicious!

I love this product and use it in all my bread and pizza doughs. Unfortunately, it's just not cost effective. I wish it would come in a larger more economical bag so I can continue to substitute it for 20% of my flour. I went through 2 bags in 2 weeks....not practical.

I've been using a bit of this in my pizza crust recently when I don't make whole wheat and in hamburger buns when the teenager is here. It works great. You can't even tell it's there, and it's nice to know there's a bit of fiber added.

Love this product! As so many have already said, it's easy to add into recipes and gives that extra bit of fiber that we all need these days. My only complaint is with the packaging. When you go to open it, CUT the plastic bag, don't tear it or let it rip. The plastic is such that it will split and then you can wind up with the product spilling out. I suggest upon opening that you transfer it to a zip top bag of some sort.
Thank you for your feedback! We've added it to our customer observation database.

Is this product identical to Hi-Maize 260? Are there any other ingredients other than Hi-Maize? What does the 5 in 1 mean?

Didn't really want to rate this, as I haven't used it, so feel free to delete the ranking....just wanted to know if this was from GMO corn?
It's non-GMO and gluten free! Happy Baking! Irene @ KAF

I use this in yeast breads with bread flour, whole wheat white, or both. At 1/3 or less of the flour content, it is virtually undetectable in the baked bread. You will notice that the dough feels a little formless. Adding the whole grain bread improver helps the texture. A great way to get fiber down your family's throats without them knowing it.

I used some of this in my favorite yeast waffle recipe this morning, and I'm impressed! Very crispy. I've seen recipes that actually do call for substituting in corn starch for some of the flour, so I'm assuming that this product provides some of the same textural benefits.
