I have had this cookbook for 15 years....it is falling apart I use it so much! I have given this as a gift for baby showers, and recommended it on numerous occasion to friends who were just starting to bake...and are now hooked! I have written countless notes and flavor alternatives in the margins along with variations of the recipes that I have created using theirs as a base. Not every recipe is great, however, it is a fun, nostalgic read with enough inspiration to get you baking and keep you informed of the variables that come with baking.

This is the first King Arthur cookbook that I bought and I love it. I make a modified version of the ollie bollen every year for Chanukah. the recipes are given so that yu understand how they work and they tell you how you can adapt it to your liking. i bought it for my sisters too. it has recipes i it that the other ones don't. I like those as well, but they don't replace this one. i use this one just as much.
