I just received my Baker's peel and used it immediately. I love the peel! The first pizza I made, I spread it on the peel with cornmeal using a rolling pin, which worked fine as far as streching the pizza dough. However, the pizza stuck to the peel when I tried to place it on the stone. I didn't want to use parchment paper because I want the dough to rest directly on the pizza stone for a crispier texture. So for my next attempt, I used a wood cutting board with cornmeal to form the pizza and used the peel to pick up the pizza from the cutting boad and move it to the oven with no problem. I can't wait to try my first pizza on the grill!

I got my peel today, I love it. It's the next best thing to a over stone. Though I will say my peel like some of the other people's peels, did come some marks on it. But this will not stop me from using it. Love my peel none the least.

Yay! no more burnt wrists trying to get the pizza out of the oven with my old peel (handle was short) or cardboard from the store bought pizzas. I can also see this being very useful when baking bread.

I love the size of this peel. One reviewer said her's came scratched. I had the same problem. The scratches were deep. I'm going to buff them down rather than sending it back. It has a nice handle on it, just long enough for taking a pizza in and out of the oven. I am surprised that this peel wasn't quality controlled checked before shipment. This will not stop me from ordering from KAF.

I was disappointed by the condition of my peel when I received it. It had multiple small scratches and digs, and a number of hand prints staining the surface. This is not what I expect of a new item, and certainly not what I have come to expect of KAF. It looks like somebody carried it around in their car to swat opossums along the side of the highway, or perhaps to play croquet with rolled up armadillos. When my tools get scratches, dings, and greasy hand prints, I want them to be mine, not some stranger's ! Since I do some metal working, I will tell you that a protective peel-off plastic film is available which would protect this item from time of manufacture all the way to our greedy little flour covered hands. You can do better than this KAF. Now, instead of cooking, I will have to spend time going over the peel with buffing compound and a fabric wheel. Drats, and Double Drats !
I'm sorry to hear this. Please call us if you would like us to send a replacement, 800-827-6836 Frank @ KAF.

I have had trouble with transferring pizza or bread onto my baking stone using cornmeal. However, when I place the dough on a piece of parchment paper, it works like a charm. I am very happy with this purchase

We have been using this peel for the past month and really like it! It took a few tries to learn the "push and pull" technique for depositing bread and pizza on to the baking stone but we now consider the peel an essential part of baking.

If, like me, you're more than an occasional bread or pizza baker and have a baking stone for the oven this is a must have. I had originally thought about getting the all-wood version, but decided to take a chance on this one. I don't regret it for a minute!

Yeah pizza ok. But what this tool is really great for is making pie without ripping up the crust. After you roll the bottom crust you slide the peel under it. Invert an empty pie plate onto it and flip the whole thing over. Add the pie filling. Roll the top crust and grab that pizza peel again. Slide it under the well-floured top crust. Position the peel over your pie, and gently shake it until the crust starts sliding off the edge of the peel, then- line it up with the bottom crust and slide er off in one quick motion. Works every time.

This is a tool I'd longed for but thought I'd never find! This peel is well-made and should last a lifetime. Best of all, I can now slide my pizza directly to a hot stone in my oven easily. No more culinary masterpieces falling to the floor! Definitely worth the price.
