The big bottle is a huge plus for me. I tend to be one of those "little of this, bit of that" bakers who don't measure much, and I just pour the vanilla straight into the bowl. :) Very cost-effective, and I'm not always running out.

Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract is the King Of All Vanillas. There is no bitter aftertaste, it just adds a smooth, rich flavor to any and everything...cakes, pastry, ice cream, puddings, you name it. I am an avid baker and friends and family are always asking for my recipes, I tell them Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla is My Secret Weapon. To deal with the large bottle I just buy a smaller bottle in addition to this size and pour as needed and keep the rest out of sight. That way there's no waste from your husband or kids.

This really is excellent vanilla, though the bottle is a little big. To avoid the problem of overpouring, try transferring some to a wash bottle (those plastic squeeze bottles used in labs for dispensing small amounts). You'll get an exact amount and you won't have to store the big bottle in your kitchen.

The 32 oz bottle is hard to pour from because it's so big. The opening is large and it's hard to pour just a small amount. I have over poured on all my measurements. Not so good for the savings benefit. The best solution is to buy a smaller bottle along with the 32 oz bottle and then use a funnel to pour into smaller bottle.

Good stuff. The only problem with the big bottle is my husband goes crazy with vanilla when we seem to have such an abundance. Note: the price gap with Cooking.com has closed as of 7/09.

I've always used this vanilla in small quantities, but when a bride asked me to use it to darken the color of the icing, I was amazed at the depth of flavor it added. I use it so much, I need to find out how to purchase it by the gallon. It is the best!

This is a wonderful vanilla and in a bottle this size, I don't run out and can use as much as I want to - I always double the amount called for and it really makes a difference. You may find this cheaper on other websites, but you can't beat KAF for customer service. I like to shop where I know it is appreciated!

This is my family's favorite vanilla! My 11 year old loves to put a splash in his strawberry smoothies! He even calls it by name, "Where is the Madagasgar Vanilla, mom?" We use other Nielsen-Massey vanillas, but this is our all purpose vanilla! YUMMY!
