I have had this mat for several years. I never thought I needed it because I used wax paper for years to roll pie dough, and it always came out OK. I was so wrong. It is way easier to roll out everything on this mat. I use it for bread, pie dough, cookies. Dough doesn't stick to it, and you don't have to add as much flour when you roll the dough. Cookies come out way better when using a cookie cutter. If I am rolling out something that will need to be cut with a knife, I just slide a cutting board under the dough to protect the mat.

I'm a pie crust neophyte, and this really helps me get the right size when rolling. I love the nonstick surface, although I have found it a bit hard to clean - immediate cleaning helps as the dried dough is hard to remove.

I really like this mat for a couple reasons. First the markings on the sides and circle take the guesswork out of making sure the pastry or bread is the right measurement. Also the non-stick surface is great for rolling out dough and it eliminates the need for a lot of extra flour. I would also caution anyone to avoid using sharp objects when cutting the dough as I've already caused a couple of slashes in the mat. It still is usable, though!

my New Year resolution was to bake more homemade pie and this mat has made it a lot easier! the recipe printed on it is great, and it's so simple to roll the crusts out to the proper sizes.

On the day I received this mat I made a pizza, the circles are very helpful and it sticks to the counter beautifully and does not move on you. When my pizza stuck to the mat, (I was unable to get it off the mat using my new pizza peel, also from KAF) I knew from the enclosed information that it was good up to 900 degrees, so I picked up the mat with the pizza still on it and put them into my oven on a stone at 450 degrees.
Things began to smoke after about 5min, I grabbed the peel and removed both mat and pizza, which I was then able to remove from the mat and re-insert into the oven onto the stone using the peel, which is a nice tool.
This is a great work surface for all the reasons people have mentioned, but I do not recommend putting it into the oven, even at 450, bad things occur.
The mat now has 2 areas where the silicone coating is peeling/rubbing off, it appears these were the areas (about 2" diam.) where the mat was touching the sides of the 450 oven for about 5min.
Just my 2 cents, but I certainly can't say this mat is oven safe, at least not at 450 degrees.
Otherwise, it is truly a great work surface for pizza and I will be ordering a replacement and learning my lesson.
We are so sorry to hear about the issue with your rolling mat. We have never had that happen to us during testing. Please phone our customer service department, and we will be happy to assist you with this. MJR @ KAF

I have had this for a year or two. I absolutely love it. It really simplifies clean-up and I have never had anything stick, even though I only use a very tiny amount of flour. I have been reading that it has been used in the oven too. I didn't realize it was oven-safe, so it's even more useful than I realized! I always use parchment on my baking sheets, so I have not used any sil-pats for baking~

I found another use: if you have an induction cooktop, you can put the mat on it to protect the glass. No need to remove while cooking, and it protects the glass.

Wonderful and easy to use! I have ceramic tile counters, and this is a great surface for rolling pie dough, biscuit dough, graham crackers... It's also very easy to clean up. It is a little larger than I anticipated, so I roll it in a big teatowel to store it.

Why did I wait so long to purchase this mat? The mat is quite large, which provides an ample workspace. Also, the material 'sticks' nicely to my countertops, providing me with a non-slip surface to roll dough, pastry, etc. The best part? It rolls up nicely, and I can easily tuck it away into my 'skinny cupboard. It's perfect for my baking needs! Great product, KAF.

This stays where you put it, you can use less flour and can knead bread dough without any problems. Well worth the price. I haven't made piecrust yet, but think the circles will be a great help. Thanks again for another wonderful item.
