If you think you make good biscuits or you'd like to make better biscuits or you have biscuit lovers in your family, buy Bakewell Cream of Tartar and you will not be disappointed! I agree that the recipe on the can is really good. The biscuits are light taste great. It makes quite a few, but you can just freeze the ones you don't eat. Zap them in the microwave to reheat and they taste like they just came out of the oven!

Too bad I can't give this more than 5 stars. I thought I made great biscuits until I used Bakewell Cream and the wonderful recipe on the back of the can. Even my Southern husband who knows biscuits says they are the best. The fact that it can be a substitute for cream of tartar is very helpful too. I use Bakewell Cream whenever I can, substituting for baking powder (conversion instructions are on the back of the can too - amazing how much you can put on a small can!).

I have been using Bakewell Cream since the early 80's growing up in Maine. It produces some the tenderest, fluffiest, most fool-proof biscuits I have ever made or eaten.
