The bread made in this pan was very good. It pulled in a bit on the sides - I'm not sure why. It wasn't a problem. [I notice commercial loaves in this style have a little of that pulled in shape too.] I made a 50/50 white/whole wheat loaf and it was very good - nice texture and flavor. The pan is heavy and the bread came out very easily - much appreciated because my old (non-KAF) bread pans often required quite a bit of fiddling to get the bread out, even with liberal buttering of the pan.

I had two of the smaller pans, but the bread disappears so darned fast, I decided to buy the standard one. Heavy, well constructed and cleans up like a dream.

If baking bread could be entertainment, this is the recipe/pan to use! I used the mixer method to make the dough, and it felt like satin! When I took the lid off during baking, the color and aroma of the bread about took my breath away! If I could frame this loaf, I would, but my husband is wielding a knife in one hand and a jar of jam in the other... After reading the reviews, I took extra care in measuring all the ingredients. After seeing the finished product, it was worth every minute. I did use potato flakes instead of potato flour, and it worked out fine. This pan is going to get a work out!

Great pan and great recipe! Made this, then sliced it horizonally for a "filled loaf". Spread the layers with various mixtures and colors, stacked the lsyers, then sliced like regular bread for a gorgeous presentation. It was a real "wow" at our last gathering. Too much fun!!

I am using this pan to make sandwich and toasting bread for my family and others. The pan has received critical acclaim from my family and friends elevating me from novice to fantastic bread maker! Thanks so much, KAF, for suggesting this product!

This pan is coated with a material that according the manufacturer of the coating is not foodsafe at 450, a common baking temperature for bread. For sure, if it is not foodsafe at 450, one should be suspicious of its safety at lower temperatures after long usage. It is also not safe for traditional German schwarzbrot, which bakes covered at 200-225 for hours, as the steam inside degrades the coating. I would dearly like to see KAF sponsor a line of bread baking pans that is made in America and built of solid stainless. As for this pan, I sent it back before even using it, having learned that the coating manufacturer does not consider it foodsafe at typical breadbaking temperatures.

I love this pan. I tried out the King Arthur recipe for pain de mie (though veganized with soymilk powder and non-dairy margarine) and it worked perfectly. The release from the pan was easy, the color was evenly golden and the taste was completely yum! The pan cleaned up very easily and the bread is perfect for sandwiches.

I had to write and let everyone know what a great pan this is. I got it to make a King Arthur recipe. It makes perfect sandwich bread with an evenly browned crust all around. Even my husband is impressed.

I LOVE THIS PAN! I have six kids who are not big crust lovers, especially when I make whole wheat bread. This pan is perfect for them since the crusts turn out soft and pale. I love the gorgeous dense crumb and the fact that it makes a bigger loaf. My kids will gobble up a normal sized loaf in about five minutes (not kidding). This size of loaf will last us maybe a whole day. There is pretty much no mess or cleaning involved when using this pan. I adore it! My only wish is that I could find bread bags long enough to fit these loaves.
