USA Pans of Crescent Township, PA. proves you CAN make a better pain de mie pan.

  • A Baker's Catalogue exclusive!
  • USA Pans, up till now a well-kept secret, is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial bakeware.
  • Their eco-friendly American Pan line is manufactured from a mix of 65% recycled steel for strength and durability, and aluminum for superior conductivity.
  • This heavy-duty pan features rolled edges with internal steel wires, for extra strength and good grippability.
  • Pan is coated with Americoat, a proprietary silicone coating that provides a clear, non-stick, environmentally friendly, non-toxic baking surface, specially formulated for superior baking.
  • Unique corrugated surface provides air circulation all around, for better browning, more even baking, and perfect release. We thought it wouldn’t work as suggested – it did!
  • Lidded 13” x 4” x 4”-deep pan is ideal for yeast loaves with fine-grained texture, and perfectly square corners. Think grilled cheese, French toast, cinnamon toast, hors d’oeuvres…
  • Manufacturer recommends hand washing, to avoid harsh dishwasher detergents. And that's just fine; we found these pans rinse clean easily in hot, soapy water.

Fantastic pan. Very heavy construction, and looks like it will last forever. Mine gets a real workout as I make a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread in it every week. Perfect for sandwiches!

Love this pan. I even use it without the lid. Never have a problem with the lid sticking (I always spray it) and the bread just pops out of the pan.

This pan is built to last. First time I used the pan I thought there may be a problem with sticking on the lid. With most recipes the last cooking time the lid needs to come off. I sprayed the lid with cooking spray and it came off with no fuss or sticking.

I have used the pain de mie recipe in this pan several times and have not been disappointed. The loaf has turned out well each time.

This is the pan I have been looking for! My daughter actually did not make a fuss at homemade bread for a sandwich when I used this pan! I adapted another recipe for this pan, but it turned out PERFECT! I cannot wait to bake bread again with it! I am so happy with my purchase!!

Great item, easy to clean and use. It may seem like a "specialty item", but mine gets a lot of use. I love to use it for recipes of "quick" (non-yeast) breads as the size makes a better tea loaf that seems to cook more evenly than in a standard 9x5 bread pan.

We have made white, tea, cinnamon, and rye bread recipes from the KA site using this pan, all with great success. Letting the bread rise properly is a little tricky but can be mastered easily, and I recommend using a thermometer to determine when the bread is done. ma Though a little expensive, this pan is a wonderful addition to our collection and we are very happy with it. Now I would like to find a 'crimped round pan' to bake moravian cinnamon swirl bread. Any chance of stocking that one, KA? Thanks.
