Just received this item. Why is the expiration date 6 months from now. Wish I had known this before I purchased. The store has panko flakes with an expiration date of at lest a year. Why does this product have such a short expiration date?

I have been paying $4.95 for a 3.5 oz. box of Panko bread crumbs at the grocery store. The bread crumbs from KAF are far less expensive and a better crumb to boot!

Panko makes a crisp & attractive looking coating for fried foods that's unlike any other breading. It's great for fried shrimp.

The panco is good but the price isn't. It's 45 percent higher than what I could find elsewhere on the net. With a loaf of Wonder bread and a toaster oven I could make it for myself even cheaper.
