Perfect for piecrust, super for scone dough.

"Cut butter into flour." HUH? This pastry blender is just what the (recipe) doctor ordered.

  • Comfortable grip.
  • Sharp (but not dangerously so) blades.
  • Just push-down, push-down, push-down till the butter (or shortening) and flour are evenly combined.
  • Diamond-shaped blades help prevent sticky clogs as you work.
  • Stainless steel with thermoplastic handle.
  • Dishwasher-safe.

I ordered this because of the rave reviews. However, when I used it to cut butter into the Peach/Cream Scone mix the butter kept sticking to the pastry cutting blades. And yes the butter was cold. I was very disappointed.

The best I've ever used and I have made pies since the 1960's. I have owned many pastry blenders which were ok but did not last but this one I've owned for a few years and it still works great. You will need a flat bottomed bowl for it to work correctly. Don't be discouraged by the price, it's worth it!

This is the first pastry blender that has not broken while cutting in ice cold butter. Yay!

This is the first pastry blender I've ever used that was sturdy enough to do the job with very cold butter. It's extremely ergonomic, and as long as the bowl you're using has a flat bottom, you can really put some body english into it. The wires won't bend or distort. I used to make do with the biggest fork I could find, but now that I have one of these I'm never looking back.
