This is a great idea but unfortunately the chain is not long enough. I baked a 9 inch tart shell blind and I had to go back to the beans. I agree with someone else who commented that you need two chains for it to work properly. I am sorry this did not work out for you. I have been making pies for years. I don't know how I ever got along without this wonderful gizmo. No more poking the crust with a fork, just circle the beads in the crust and bake.

It's easy to use and easy to clean.

I've not been a pie baker but have decided to learn. Luckily, around here, we have a lot of community events that welcome baked goodies. After watching my pie crusts become tortillas and struggling with beans, this is a fine alternative. I put it down over a circle of parchment and the crust bakes very nicely.

Still need to prick pie crust to keep from bubbling, but it does help from major bubbles

I love the pie chain. I always line my crusts with parchment paper first and I've never been disappointed with the results. So much easier than beans or the individual pie weights.

I love this item so much for pies and tarts, I bought one for my mom for Christmas. It is so much easier to deal with than the individual weights (or beans, or rice...)

I couldn't get this to work for me at all. I ruined two chocolate cream pie crusts the last two years - the edges slumped down the sides of the pan. This year I called KA baking support and the baker told me to go with two bags of beans, so the crust was really full, and that worked. Not as easy to deal with, but more trustworthy for me.

I have had this for several years and it is definitley easier than beads or beans. but it is not big enough to cover the crust and the crust still puffs up around it. Also could be a bit heavier. So I am ordering a second

I'm a pie crust rookie, so this was the first time I made a blind-baked crust (Dad wanted a fresh peach pie). Worked beautifully, but I wish it had been a tad heavier, since my crust still bubbled up a bit during baking. (I saw it happen & stabbed it with a knife. All was well!) Might need to buy another one since pies are on the menu for Thanksgiving!
