Thoroughly enjoyed Susan Reid's pastry tour de force, Pie Essentials! My dear mother was always the pie maker, and throughout my childhood, I watched her create magnificent ones. But when the responsibility for the Thanksgiving pies became mine, it was more than a little unnerving. There was one great year, but more often ho-hum ones. Susan's Pie Essentials DVD should have a giant exclamation point in the title, because after watching over and over, as well as taking notes, finally I understand! A truly great compendium of crusts and fillings, along with techniques, tips and recipes. Thank you, Susan!
