You've always loved our Polish stoneware. We've brought this piece back for Easter. Supply is limited, though, so consider ordering sooner rather than later.

  • Bake a 2-quart casserole, scalloped potatoes, fruit crisp, bread pudding, even brownies in this pretty baker.
  • Stoneware bakes gently; no fear of burning. And it's beautiful on the table.
  • Freezer-, oven-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe.
  • Measures 14" x 9 1/2" x 2 1/4" tall.
  • Lead free
This, our favorite stoneware, is handmade at Poland's Ceramika Artystyczna company by craftsmen carrying on a time-honored European Bunzlauer tradition, which originated nearly 200 years ago in the German province of Silesia. The long tradition of this stoneware doesn't rule out modern manufacturing methods, however. Once the items are shaped and painted by hand, they're fired in coal and gas ovens at temperatures in excess of 2,450°F, making them exceedingly durable; they're impervious to abrasives, resistant to cracks and chips, and freezer-, oven-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe. So, don't stash them away in the hutch; though they may LOOK like special-occasion fine china, go ahead and use them every day. Why let anything this beautiful languish behind glass?

I ordered this because I have other Polish stoneware, which i like a lot. This is beautiful. Mine arrived packed with other King Arthur goodies and all arrived whole and ready to use (well, of course, I did wash the oval baker first).

I too received one of these in pieces but called and a new one arrived in about 3 days. I made lemons into lemonade and passed the broken pieces on to someone who makes craft items from pottery shards!

Beautiful and high quality bakeware, and a very East European flair. Seems a bit shallow, but difficult to tell--unfortunately it arrived shattered in several dozen pieces, which just broke my heart to see such a lovely item so shattered. Such a great disappointment - 3 bags of Artisian flour on top of it. Suggest better packing. Still no word from customer service since my earlier email....
