Very good yeast. I have had very good results with it.

I was swept up by the hype over instant yeast. I started using it after a long hiatus from bread baking. Although I had used standard yeast for 30 years, I could never adjust to this new stuff. Then, I read that instant yeast is genetically engineered yeast. I returned to standard yeast. I couldn't be happier. I am used to the temperature and the proofing. But, then, I never tried the no-knead bread and probably never will. I love kneading bread. It is relaxing and tension reducing. Finally, my bread now rises well. The instant stuff never gave results that were "high, wide and handsome."

All of these years i was convinced that it is cheaper to buy bread from the market, and rightly so. Its because of the price of the yeast in the local markets that makes bread expensive to make... Not any more ha ha! No more over-priced .25 ounce packets of yeast for me! This Red-Star yeast works just as well as the SAF yeast IMO. Thanks KAF! Peggy

Three things to look for in a yeast: quality, reliability and value. Red Star has them all. I bake our daily bread as well as pizza, breadsticks, bagels and pretzels and have considered Red Star Active Dry Yeast to be a partner in all these efforts. This yeast performs consistently from batch to batch and makes baking the joy it should be. And as an added bonus, you simply can't beat the price. Thanks KAF.

I have always used Fleichman's yeast, but decided to try the Red Star because I could get the larger quantity. I love it! The baking I've been doing with it is coming out perfectly. It rises so well! I love this yeast and will continue to use it from now on.

Plenty of yeast for the money. If you are a regular buyer of packets, you'll be plenty happy replacing that habit with scooping from a surplus instead. I recommend purchasing the acrylic canister that is likely listed as an add-on on the side of the page. It will fit fine on most refrigerator doors.

I bake bread every week and I could not live without red star yeast. It is very reliable and consistant.

I have the hardest time getting my store bought yeast to rise, and thus have never been able to make any great tasting recipes calling for yeast. It was not the case with this yeast, my brioche rose to triple its size, just like the recipe called for. Never going back to store bought yeast.
