"Roll dough 1/4-inch thick" automatically, no ruler needed.

So how do YOU roll your dough exactly 1/8" thick? I use these rubber rolling rings.

  • Set of 4 pairs of graduated-size rubber rings.
  • Slip one onto each side of your rolling pin.
  • Roll dough flat; desired thickness is automatically determined by rings!
  • To roll dough 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", or 3/8" thick.
  • Fits pins with 1 1/2" to 3" barrels.
WHY TO BUY: Silly, you say? Uh-uh. If you’re like me, you get WAY too worked up trying to roll your cookie or piecrust dough to an exact (and even-all-over) thickness. Just slip a pair of these rings onto your rolling pin, and forget the angst–they do the measuring as you roll! – P.J. Hamel, The Baker’s Catalogue®

I bought these earlier this year, and just used them for the first time on a batch of springerles. They are great for creating an even batch - which is essential for uniform baking. I'd strongly recommend them. Made the rolling of the dough much easier with a lot less guessing.

I'm sorry. I haven' t tried these - I was looking for 1/2" for shortbread dough. Can't you please add the 1/2" ring?
Thanks for the suggestions. We have added this to our Customer Observations. Irene @ KAF

I do like these as they will make consistent cookies. My only question is this; won't they be stretched thinner using them on a larger diameter rolling pin? If this is the case, it doesn't make sense to say I need a 5/8" thickness of my cookie, for example.
Our product info says these can be used on pins that measure 1 1/2" to 3". We assume the finished thickness is fine up to the 3" rolling pin size. Irene @ KAF

I don't understand how these rings would fit 1 rolling pin. They are different on the inside. I want the thickest dough and the blue ones didn't fit at all, so I put the blue one on first then then the green which fit snug. But it was a pain to work with. I am not happt at all with this product.
We are sorry that you don't care for these rings. They are a very snug fit on the pin, to keep them from spinning and wiggling while you roll. If you phone customer service, we will be happy to help you out. MJR @ KAF

It was stupid of me to buy these without checking their diameters -- even the thinnest rings are too big for my rolling pin. Their diameters are all different, though, which makes me think I need to buy multiple rolling pins? Seems like an expensive proposition.
Sorry this product did not work for your rolling pin. They should fit rolling pins with a diameter between 1 1/2" to 3". When a product doesn't meet your expectations, call a customer service rep. at 800-827-6836 to resolve this for you! Irene at KAF

My sugar cookies are "world famous" because no one else can get them the thickness and uniformity that I do. The secret? Use the green ones - it also makes your cookies a little softer, so if you put on royal icing you don't get a thin piece of cement cookie! Just use a smaller piece of dough so you don't roll over it with the bands! LOVE THEM!

These are great to use when baking with children. The kids are 2 and 4 yrs old. They know we have to put the rings on before we start. They love baking cookies with their T-bird.

These are great! I also bought the long silicon rolling pin so the rings never get in the way. I make gingerbread houses and have always had a problem with varying thickness of the dough. Not now. Never was crazy about those short rolling pins. I plan to do a lot more baking.

I am a potter and use these to roll out slabs of clay to a uniform thickness. cheaper than a slab roller and if you need a bigger slab you need to use a broader rolling pin. also works great for pie crusts.

The concept of using these rings is a good one- which is why I purchased them. My rolling pin work size is the standard size. When the rings are on the pin, you can only roll out an 8 inch circle of dough- the rings get in the way. Alas, the rings defeat themselves.
