- An incredible value: SAF Red instant costs 75% LESS than supermarket active dry yeast, AND works better.
- From France's Lesaffre Yeast Corporation.
- Available in a vacuum-packed, 1-pound brick.
- Makes about 96 loaves of bread.
- Store for a year or more in an airtight container in your freezer.
- Gluten-free.

Great yeast. Perfect for low sugar breads like french. For high sugar and sourdough breads use my other favorite yeast - saf gold. I always have both on hand!

Can you give more than 5 stars? if so, I would. This stuff worked great and even adding the cost of shipping it is a much better deal than you might think at first glance. Easy to store with an air-tight container and easy to measure too.

Good stuff. I was a little skeptical in trying a "Instant" yeast but it performs as good or better than the traditional types. The cost also won me over. I was buying little packets every other week and it gets expensive.

Excellent product. I have been a bread baker for 45 years, and this was the best yeast I ever used. Buy a canister that is GLASS with it. I opted to reuse an acrylic canister, and there was too much static electricity, resulting in a mess.

I have used this product since I started making my own bread in January 2008. I can't say enough good things about it. Very easy to use. Stores wonderfully. Extremely cost effective. LOVEIT!

I tried this on the quick bake cycle (2 hours) in my Zo Mini bread machine, which actually calls for rapid rise yeast, which I can't find in bulk, and it worked perfectly. I'm so excited to know that I can come home from work and fix a recipe with perishable ingredients and have it ready for dinnertime. I used the recipe for a Quick bake cycle from the Zo book - 1 1/2 tsp yeast to 2 1/8 cups flour.

I am not happy with this yeast: I've used it probably twenty times now, and at least three quarters of the time, it makes my bread taste and smell vaguely alcohol-like. I am very unhappy about that!
It sounds like the dough is over proofing. Tey cutting back on the amount of yeast that you use. mary @ KAF < /strong> /strong>

This yeast is fabulous. I would recommend the KA yeast kit with this as it makes it very convenient to use and easy to store in fridge.Much.much less expensive than the store packets, The results are always predictable and perfect. A can't go wrong,no brainer with this one.

I am very cautious about "country of origin" when buying and this product is "Product of Mexico" which was not listed on the website. My mistake, I should have asked. I am rating it only with three stars because I didn't see any difference compared to Fleischman's Yeast which is made in Canada. I make bread three times a week so it's not lack of experience. KAF could you please post "country of origin" with you products? It would give me a better and safer feeling when buying your products. Thanks, and hope you understand especially in times were there is new food scare out every so (too) often.
