I love these, and not just for starters. They are also great for small amounts of dry goods like specialty flours. The lids fit very tightly. I am buying a second set as a gift.

Not sure what the prevoius complaint is about, unless they misunderstood the purpose. These are perfect for letting a cup of starter/poolish/preferment rise and develop before adding to the final dough (not big enough to hold the entire loaf). I have 3 and am considering 3 more.

These are too tiny!!!!! They only hold 1 liter or a little over a quart. There is no way these are useful in making bread! Very disappointed. They are going back!
