Love this hazelnut flour! I use it to make linzer cookies every Christmas season, and it's so much easier than shelling and pulverizing my own nuts. It freezes well, too.

This is a fabulous product. I used it in cookes and then in a hazelnut cream four layered cake. The only problem is that it only comes in an 8 oz bag. It should come in a 16 or 20 oz size bag. The texture is rally good, the flavor is perfect and it goes well in cakes, cookies, pancakes and waffles. I made a hezelnut crust for a chocolate cheese cake and the nut quality never failed.

Absolutely wonderful! I love this flour. Great flavor, great texture. My only complaint is the quantity in which it is sold. I'd be great if KA would offer a bigger size at a little savings.

I like to replace some of the flour in my favorite muffin recipes with the toasted hazelnut flour. It works great. Combined with fiori di sicilia flavoring and the addition of dried cranberries, the muffins turn out excellent and the hazelnut flour improves the texture of the muffins as well!

I too thought that the toasted hazelnut meal smelled a bit stale. However, I did go ahead and use it in a traditional biscotti recipe that I have made dozens of times w/almond meal. I also used the hazelnut extract that I ordered from KA. I was pleasantly surprised when the finished product came out tasting every bit as good as I had hoped. Methinks it is just the pungent nature of the hazelnut that imparts that off-smell. The same thing has happened when I've opened pkgs of nuts.

I totally agree with a previous review. This flour did smell old when I opened after 3 days I received it. I was worried since there was no packed date or expired date on a package which it should!

Great idea, poor quality control. This flour went straight from the KAF shipping carton to my freezer, where they sat for one week before I took them out to use in a recipe. The flour smelled and tasted rancid. The packaging had no "Packed on/Use by" date of any sort. I'll stick with toasting and grinding the hazelnuts myself after this.
I am sorry to hear the Hazelnut Flour arrived rancid. Please give us a call at 1-800-827-6836 and our customer service representatives would be happy to help! Keri @ KAF

I used this toasted hazelnut flour in the Epicurious recipe for hazelnut cake. It was so absolutely delicious that my sons insist on including it as a traditional dessert at holiday time. You won't be disappointed with this product.

I make all our bread, and I use this as the "secret ingredient" in our sandwich and toasting bread. It gives an incredible flavor! A friend told me it was the best bread she'd ever tasted.
