I love my Viking stand mixer: powerful and flexible. I use it, with attachments, pretty much daily. The slicer/shredder is sharp, flexible, easy to assemble (after a bit of practice), and easy to clean. It pops on to the top of the stand mixer, and uses the same (very powerful) motor. It cuts quickly and cleanly into shreds, slices, or julienne sticks. It doesn't "process"--that is, it doesn't chop everything up and blend it, like a cuisinart does. What it does do, though, it does excellently.
