Does not work as well as is stated in catalog. I make lots of bread and use it frequently. However it does not have the torque to handle my needs of frequent use. This morning making 2 loafs or 6 cups of freshly ground whole wheat
flour was a chore for this machine. I have called the manufacturer and with no regards. I miss my little Kitchen Aide Work Horse. Two stars because it will mix a cake mix.
We are sorry for the disappointment. I love my 5 QT Viking for all mixing, including yeast breads using the dough hook. I am a professional baker and have this same mixer. Viking puts their name on this but they do not manufacture it. It is clumsy and hard to store under a counter. My pastry teaching kitchens have seven Kitchenaid 6 qts and 8 Kitchenaid NSF 5 quarts. Plus we love all the attachments. This Viking labeled mixer is a dinosaur.

Love the large bowl capacity. Making bread is so simple in this mixer. I've doubled bread recipes and the mixer moves right thru it with ease. Especially easy to stop and scrape with the lift up mixer head. So happy that I purchased it.
