I don't know why I bought this. I ordered it with several other items, as I am a newbie bread maker. I thought this must be the correct measure for most everything since everyone raves about it. I bake bread 3 or 4 times a week and have not found a recipe that calls for 2 1/4 teaspoons of anything. It is high quality and I'm sure it is very accurate. I wish I had a use for it.
The spoon is designed to measure out one packet's worth of yeast, so any time you use a bread recipe that says "one packet of yeast" this spoon will measure just that amount. Hope this helps. MJR @ KAF

I put off buying this as it seemed like a luxury, but I actually use it for a lot of things. I have a large family so at least double every recipe. If a recipe calls for 1t, this is close enough to 2 to save me an extra step. I is now my most used measuring spoon! Don't tell the baking police, but I have been known to use it in baking recipes as well, for spices, vanilla, etc where a scant yeast measure is close enough to 2t.

Great addition to my kitchen. Funny where others do not like the long handle, I think it is perfect for leveling off the dry ingredients in my measuring cup.

Great for gadget lovers who bake a lot of bread. Not really needed. It sure makes it easier to measure bulk yeast.

This spoon is very handy. It would be absolutely perfect if it were modified to hang from the latch of your acrylic yeast container.

I love this scoop, although the recipe I use most often calls for 2-1/2 tsp instead of 2-1/4. I don't understand why this was done, but perhaps another could be made for "one scoop measurement". It's sturdy and well-made, though, so for now I'll keep my 1/4 tsp measuring spoon right next to it.
