I LOVE my mini Zo! I had always loved having fresh homemade bread, but with a full time job and other commitments, I had never been able to work breadmaking into my schedule regularly. Now, with the mini Zo, it's easy to make homemade bread anytime. The machine is easy to use, program, and clean up. The day I received the machine I was able to read the quick start directions and have a fresh loaf of bread a few hours later! It's small size is perfect for our small family (it's just the two of us) and even better for our compact kitchen, because the small size of the machine allows it to be easily stored in a cabinet when it's not in use. The machine is light enough for me to get in and out of the cabinet quickly. The machine comes with a booklet with a few recipes, but many other recipes are available online, including some formulated specifically for the mini Zo. If you love the idea of fresh bread, but don't need/want a full size bread machine, this is the machine for you. You won't be dissapointed by the quality or ease of use with this great machine!

I love our Zojirushi Mini Bread Machine! It's small loaves are just the right size for two people. I haven't had a failure yet. I use the recipes that came with the machine and the ones in "Bread Machine Magic" by Linda Rehberg and Lois Conway.

Don't give up! For recipes that are perfectly sized for the wonderful mini-Zo, I use the book Bread Machine Magic (it has small and large loaf measurements). I've never had a problem and have even gotten creative with some of the recipes. Trust me--if I can do it, anyone can! Good luck!

I had read the comments and saw repeated requests for mini-loaf mixes & recipes. I didn't understand the issue. Now I do. Too hard to convert. I am inquiring about returning my machine. Very intimdating.

I used to throw lots of commercial bread away (the loaves are too big for one person and I hate frozen bread). I am not a very good cook and my kitchen it t.i.n.y! This machine makes wonderful bread, in a size that I can finish before it gets moldy. I have never had a failure! I bought The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook by Beth Hensperger, cut the 2-lb loaf recipes in half, and make anything I want. My soup comes from a can, but my bread is fresh and warm. In summer I cook hardly anything, but I still make my own bread and happily eat sandwiches when it's hot out.

I might not be so annoyed had I not bought this at full price and paid shipping, but I am not impressed with this machine. I have had a lot of trouble adjusting "full-size" recipes that worked perfectly for years in my Breadmaker. Also, I HATE the mandatory "rest" period at the beginning of each cycle. I don't need that. My ingredients and water are already at room temperature. If there's a way to override it, please let me know. I now only use it to make dough, then shape and bake in the oven. It's perfectly fine for that, but what I really wanted was a bread machine. I join other reviewers in asking for some "mini-mixes" if you plan to continue selling this machine.

Absolutely love this little machine! I really like the fact that I know exactly what is going into my bread. Have had this for about a year now and make fresh bread several times a week. Also makes great doughs for pizza, rolls. Initially had some difficulty with the timing aspect of the machine, but called the Zoji company and was given easy instructions. Now I have hot bread waiting for me most mornings! Love it!

In response to QuakerKate from NYC I melt butter in the microwave then wait for the ADD beep to incorporate this ingredient. This way the butter incorporates evenly. With the large machine I sometimes pour a little extra butter over the top of the risen dough just before the bake cycle starts.

Thanks for the response-- I really appreciate the input and I hope it's okay to write again.
I see in the description above: "Compact, slim-design Zo Mini kneads dough for a standard (3-cup-flour) loaf, or kneads and bakes a 1-pound (2 1/4-cup-flour) loaf..."
However, I could not see where in the manual that it mentioned being used to knead for a 3-cup flour loaf.
Do you mean knead and rise? Or just knead? Are there any instructions here or elsewhere for how to do this?
(The Zoji recipe book DOES explain how to use the machine for dough only, but the amounts given are still for a 1-lb. loaf.)
Thanks again!
