Our Sourcing Promises
We believe that the simple act of baking has the power to make our world a stronger and better place. That's why we work every day to inspire, teach, and ensure baking success. It all starts with our ingredients, which we source based on our core values of purity, quality, trust, sustainability, and integrity.
Our company was founded to provide bakers with the very best all-purpose flour: never bleached and never bromated. That was in 1790, and today the purity of our products remains crucial to who we are. Put simply, this means:
- No bleaching agents
- No artificial ingredients
- No artificial flavors
- No artificial colors
- No artificial preservatives
- No artificial sweeteners
- No high fructose corn syrup
From our flours to our mixes, recipes, and all that we do, we are passionate and unwavering about quality. With consistency as our topmost concern, our flour specifications are the tightest in the industry. That means you can expect the same great results every time you bake with King Arthur Flour. Such rigorous standards and specifications exist across all our products.
From the planting of the seed to the packaging we use, we strive to create products that are better for you and better for the planet. Working closely with suppliers, we're always innovating to bring greater transparency into our supply chain. While our food system has grown increasingly complex, you can trust us to always choose the best, smartest option for you and your baking.
We aim to reduce our environmental impact in every part of our business, including on the farm, where we have our most significant impact. We work with farmers to ensure our ingredients are responsibly grown and processed.
We are committed to significantly growing our line of organic products and ingredients. Organic farming practices can improve soil health, the quality of our water, and our environment. With organic farmland currently at 1% of all US farm acreage, we're working to support the growth and future of organic farms.
We're committed to non-GMO sourcing for all of our products, from flours to ingredients to mixes. Many of our products are certified non-GMO through the Non-GMO Project.
In partnership with a cooperative of farmers in Kansas, we offer flour milled from wheat that is grown with certified identity-preserved seeds, approved for ideal performance in the field and the kitchen. This means the wheat is traceable back to these farms, so you know exactly where your flour comes from. Our White Whole Wheat Flour is our first identity-preserved product launched in collaboration with this cooperative.
We work with suppliers who are committed to quality, ethical and fair labor practices, and environmental and social responsibility. All of our suppliers go through an extensive approval program with strict quality-assurance requirements and a Supplier Code of Conduct, which details our legal, social, and environmental standards and expectations.
