Almond-Filled Sweet Bread Buns

Almond-Filled Sweet Bread Buns in a Paper Tree Pan or 9" Square Pan

For an easily transportable variation of this sweet bread mix, it can be prepared in and served from a variety of pans. Our favorite is our festive tree pan, though outside of the holiday season, a 9" square pan works well also.

Instructions
  1. Prepare the dough according to the instructions on the box through shaping it into a 20" log and pinching the seam closed.
  2. For the tree pan, cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them into the lightly greased pan; there should be one in the trunk, 4 across the bottom tree tier, 3 across the middle tier, and 4 in a diamond-like shape to fill in the top.
  3. For a 9" square pan, cut the log into 9 equal slices and place them 3 x 3 into the lightly greased pan.
  4. Let the rolls rise until the dough has almost doubled in size.
  5. Near the end of the rising time, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake buns for 28 to 35 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Prepare and glaze according to the instructions on the box and sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired.

Yield: 9 to 12 buns depending on the pan used.
