Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin Doughnuts

You’ve heard of the illustrious doughnut muffin, so now we bring you the muffin doughnut. Our trusted, classic lemon poppy seed muffin mix is quickly and easily transformed into a soft, moist, baked doughnut that is fit for topping with our zesty lemon glaze mix or rolling in lemon sugar.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Prepare the batter as directed, and spoon it into the wells of a lightly-greased standard doughnut pan, filling each well about two-thirds full; if you just have one doughnut pan, you'll need to bake these in 2 or 3 batches.
  3. Bake the doughnuts for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of one comes out clean.
  4. Remove the doughnuts from the oven and turn them out of the pan onto a rack. Either roll in lemon-flavored sugar or non-melting sugar immediately, or allow to cool slightly then dip into a batch of our lemon coffee house glaze mix, thinned to about maple or pancake syrup consistency.

Yield: 12 to 14 standard doughnuts.
