Mini Chocolate Babkas

Chocolate babka makes a fabulous (and yummy) gift. Make three individual loaves, baking them in our bakable paper loaf pans.

Directions

  1. Prepare the dough and filling according to the mix instructions.
  2. Roll the dough into an 8" x 20" rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the filling over the dough, and starting with a long side, roll the dough into a 20" log and pinch the seam closed. Divide the log into 3 equal mini logs (about 7").
  3. Working with one log at a time, place it seam-side up, and cut it end to end using the seam as a guide. Twist the two pieces (cut sides up) together and press each end to seal. Repeat with the remaining logs.
  4. Place the babkas into three lightly greased paper loaf pans. Cover the loaves and let rise, until they've crowned 1/2" over the rim of the pans, about 60 to 90 minutes.
  5. Bake the babkas in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes; they will be well browned. Cool the babkas in the pans.
