Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bars

When you need an on-the-go snack this easy trail bar mix is a great solution, and can be customized to your heart's desire. May we suggest peanut butter and chocolate for an energizing and tasty boost to your day?

Ingredients
  1. 1 box Cranberry Trail Bar Mix
  2. 1/4 cup peanut butter
  3. 3 tablespoons water
  4. 2 tablespoons honey
  5. 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350° and lightly grease an 8" square pan.
  2. Combine the mix, peanut butter, water, and honey. Stir together to make a sticky dough.
  3. Spread the dough into the prepared pan, pressing it evenly to the edges.
  4. Bake the bars as directed for the chewy version (15 to 20 minutes).
  5. Remove the bars from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let the chips melt for 10 minutes then spread evenly over the surface.
  6. Cool the bars completely before cutting.
  7. Alternatively, allow the bars to cool first, cut them, then melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, and drizzle it over the bars.
  8. Yield: twelve 2" bars
