Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bars
When you need an on-the-go snack this easy trail bar mix is a great solution, and can be customized to your heart's desire. May we suggest peanut butter and chocolate for an energizing and tasty boost to your day?
Ingredients
- 1 box Cranberry Trail Bar Mix
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350° and lightly grease an 8" square pan.
- Combine the mix, peanut butter, water, and honey. Stir together to make a sticky dough.
- Spread the dough into the prepared pan, pressing it evenly to the edges.
- Bake the bars as directed for the chewy version (15 to 20 minutes).
- Remove the bars from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let the chips melt for 10 minutes then spread evenly over the surface.
- Cool the bars completely before cutting.
- Alternatively, allow the bars to cool first, cut them, then melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, and drizzle it over the bars.
- Yield: twelve 2" bars
