King Arthur Flour Fundraiser Raises More Than $13,000 for Hunger Free Vermont
Norwich, Vermont – September 11, 2013 – The donations have been tallied and last week’s Bakers’ Harvest Tasting Supper Fundraiser hosted by King Arthur Flour raised more than $13,000 for Hunger Free Vermont. This total includes all proceeds from the event plus a 100% match by King Arthur Flour.
“This fundraiser was yet another successful event put on by King Arthur Flour to support Hunger Free Vermont and help end hunger in our state,” remarks Marissa Parisi, Executive Director of Hunger Free Vermont. “With the awareness and donations raised from this event, Hunger Free Vermont will be able to continue working to ensure that all kids have food wherever they are in their day, and that adults and seniors have the resources and skills they need to prepare healthful meals at home. We are truly grateful to everyone who attended the event and donated generously and to King Arthur Flour for matching the donations.”
“We couldn’t have done this without the terrific restaurants, businesses, and farms that donated delicious ingredients, drinks, and dishes for the attendees to enjoy,” says Susan Miller, King Arthur Flour Baking Education Center director. “My fellow King Arthur Flour employee-owners also went above and beyond to ensure the event went off without a hitch. We’re already talking about how we can expand on the event next year.”
Participating restaurants, businesses, and farms included Elixir, Norwich Wines & Spirits, Ariana’s Restaurant, Killdeer Farm, The Norwich Inn, Ariel’s Restaurant, Market Table, Pine Restaurant, Carpenter & Main, Morano Gelato, Simon Pearce, Crossroad Farm, Murphy’s, and Vermont Creamery.
